COMPLETING ACT II

TODAY IN CLASS
We did not quite finish Act II as I'd hoped--we made good progress, but we're not there.  In 4th we got well into the "players" section--covering both the child acting companies (briefly, which is all we need), and the set-up for Hamlet's soliloquy by clarifying the "Hecuba" analogy.  We don't need to study all of the Hecuba speech carefully--just what Hamlet does with it in the soliloquy.  And, in fact, I think that in 4th we got the soliloquy underway.

In 6th, we are just ready to pick up with the "child players" section.  We will cover that briefly, consider the Hecuba speech, and go over the soliloquy pretty carefully tomorrow.

Act II questions were collected in 6th--I simply forgot in 4th.  I will collect them first thing tomorrow.

FOR HOMEWORK
Everyone should start reading Act III.  Read Scenes 1 and 2 for tomorrow.  You DO have study-guide questions, and I recommend them for guidance.  However, I will not collect the entire set for this act; you will do some sections more selectively.
