A Revised Schedule . . .

from yesterday's blog. I realized that I needed some of Friday's class to go over essay-related information, and I don't want you to rush into the test feeling ill-prepared.  So the Hamlet test will actually be on TUESDAY, March 23.  The first draft of the essay will be due Wednesday; the final draft will be due the following day or Friday, depending on spring break plans.

TODAY IN CLASS
I collected the Act V study questions.  Then students worked on the motivation/attitudes for Claudius and Laertes as developed through a substantial part of Act IV.  Groups submitted a chart indicating their situations prior to the entrance of the messenger bearing letters and afterwards.  During the last portion of the hour, we talked about them.

FOR TOMORROW
Look over the hand-out describing some general subjects in Hamlet as well as the specific essay topics.  We'll talk more about these tomorrow, but I expect everyone to give them serious thought tonight.  The top half is for reflection/connecting--it's important both for the test and for the underlying ideas you might need in your essay.  They are NOT the actual "topics" for the essay.  Those are provided in the bottom half of the hand-out.  Here's the link:

Next Week--Busy. Important.  Two big grades. It is not Spring Break yet.
