TODAY IN CLASS
Discussion of two ballads--"The Twa Corbies" and "Lord Randall-- according to both the narrative content of the story line as well as ballad features either present or missing.

FOR TOMORROW

• Study new hand-out on ballad features (goes into more detail than what's in the book, particularly with respect to "incremental repetition").  Be sure to bring this with you tomorrow.
• Review "Sir Patrick Spens" (we read in class yesterday--did not discuss as a class)
• "Barbara Allan"--if you did not read this for today as assigned, be sure that you have done so for tomorrow.
