TODAY IN CLASS
We continued Act I, Scene 2, focussing first on Hamlet's reply to Gertrude ("seems" vs. IS), then we read/discussed the King's lengthy reply to Hamlet (90-121).  Then students worked on a paraphrase of Hamlet's first soliloquy, lines 133-165.  A few worked individually--most in pairs or three's. 

HOMEWORK
Even though we have not finished discussing Scene 2, you need to read Scene 3 for tomorrow (to p. 49, near the top).  Don't worry--we will discuss this section pretty well before we go on.  But for the moment, you are expected to read it on your own.
