TODAY IN CLASS
You received the Hamlet books--hard cover Folger edition. You are responsible for paying for that book if you lose it--not merely replacing it with a paperback. (And 4th, I misquoted the price to you--it's actually $16.00 for the hard-back).
After a short tour of "how this book will help you learn to read Shakespeare on your own," we started in on the watchmen, Horatio, and the Ghost's first appeareance. Both classes figured out the questions that Marcellus was asking.
HOMEWORK
4th, you need to look at Horatio's entire answer (pp. 13 to the top of 17). 6th, we did the first part of that together, but you need to finish to the top of 17.
This time it's just an "on your honor" read and try to figure out--understand the main points of what Horatio says. DO NOT look it up elsewhere--you need to know what YOU do or don't get. It's a really minimal assignment (not representative of the future!). But that's it for Friday.
Be absolutely certain to bring your Hamlet text to class tomorrow and every day until we are done. You do NOT need to bring the gray lit book for awhile.
