Rain, Rain, Go Away . . .

I know, I didn't post on Friday or over the week-end.  Sorry to disappoint  . . . But to catch up briefly:  on Friday we had the Anglo-Saxon background/lyric poetry quiz.  It took 35-40 minutes for most, and needs to be made up ASAP if you were absent that day.  There will be a good group after school on Tuesday; if that doesn't work out, you can do it at 9:00 sharp on Wednesday morning.  There had been no week-end homework.

TODAY IN CLASS
A translation comparison activity. . .labeled as part of the quiz, but I'd actually announced such a thing for one day last week and it didn't come to pass.  It will be scored separately from the quiz, but definitely important as showing YOUR ability vs. some of the group work we've done recently.  So it will also need to be made up if you were absent today, Monday.

FOR TOMORROW
No specific homework, but see the two reminders below.  You definitely need your book in class for starting Beowulf tomorrow (and the rest of the week, and next week. . . ). Do NOT leave it in your car, in your locker, in your math class, or under the bed, etc.

Reminder #1:  Your final essay draft, worth 100 points, is due on Thursday, Oct. 29.  See the hand-outs and earlier posting for the details.

Reminder #2:  Your resume and typed response to Question #1 are due to the Career Center on Friday, Oct. 30.  However, these have to be cleared through me first.  And I won't be able to do them all on Friday.

SO--tonight should be a work night for most of you.
