TODAY IN CLASS
Required note-taking practice.  Yes, more than you wanted to know about the history of England--BEFORE the Anglo-Saxons but also the early part of the Anglo-Saxon period.  There will be a really brief wrap-up tomorrow, and then the promised "open-note quiz." 

Special Cases
People who were HERE today, but ABSENT for the field trip tomorrow will take the quiz in class first thing Monday.  For people who were absent today and thus missed the notes, there will be a make-up assignment.

Just so you know--almost everything we said today will have a bearing on the Anglo-Saxon literature that we study.
