Just finished the building tour at 4:30, and have to start the drive north ASAP. So no review of today's class beyond what you need to do for tomorrow:
Read the first chapter of 1984. You have different editions with somewhat different sized print. In some the actual narration begins on page 1, others page 5, and there may be other options. But in the two books I looked at, the first short chapter ended on page 20.
Opening sentence: "It was a bright cold day in April . . . ."
Last sentence of the first short chapter: "He got up and moved heavily to the door."
