Swift and Satire, continued

TODAY  IN CLASS
We learned how the Brits eat their eggs . . . and, yes, tried to make sense out of the process of satire in the two excerpts from Gulliver's Travels found in your textbook.

I collected the part of yesterday's questions that you needed to complete as homework (i.e., whatever you hadn't gotten finished in class).  We went over the first two sections pretty well, but stopped short of the more opinionated/reflective questions at the end (10 and 11).  We will pick up there tomorrow.

FOR TOMORROW--If this applies to you, don't forget that 11:59 p.m. tonight is the turnitin.com deadline!
No homework.  But if you find that during the day tomorrow you will need to leave school early--before you come to English class--please stop by and pick up a very important hand-out!  Thanks.
