Welcome to the British and Western Lit blog for 2009-2010! This is a short and (late) entry just to let you know you've found the right place.
If you brought your resume to class on Friday and wrote the draft of your Self-Definition during class time, you're right where you should be. If you were absent on Friday, I'm going to have you do the draft out of class. A couple of people who knew they would be away on Friday know this and plan to turn in the draft plus resume tomorrow; others will need to do the first draft as "make-up" and turn it in on Wednesday together with a copy of your resume (which, as I've said on paper and in class last week, can also be somewhat less than perfect at this point!)
Just as a heads-up, we will have a few in-class essays (or essay exams!) during the year, and they would need to be made up after school or before school on Wednesdays. For the Self-Definition, however, the class time was mainly to free up your Labor Day week-end (the last hurrah of summer) as well as to give you something useful to do while I was gone on Friday myself!) So it's OK to make it up on your own time at home.
See you on Tuesday!
